Doerr Dallas Valuations Summer Party at Henley

‘Family’ Summer Day Out

The Doerr Dallas ‘Family’ Summer Day Out

It has become a cherished tradition at Doerr Dallas Valuations that our summer party coincides with the Henley Royal Regatta, and this year was no exception. Yesterday was filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of conversation—all made even better when the sun finally made an appearance!

The day began in style with a glass of champagne over breakfast, setting the perfect tone for the celebrations ahead. From there, we made our way to the river for a truly special experience aboard the ‘Charles Cooper Henderson’, a beautifully restored Dunkirk Little Ship. This historic vessel provided a front-row seat to the rowing action, allowing us to soak in the atmosphere of one of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar.

After a leisurely cruise along the Thames, we returned to our private mooring for a relaxed and delicious sit-down lunch. With fine food, flowing conversation, and a stunning riverside setting, it was the perfect way to continue the day. Afternoon tea followed—a classic English treat—before a friendly yet competitive game of boules on the lawn. Of course, there may have been time for another glass of something refreshing to round off the occasion!

It was particularly special to see just how much our team has grown. In fact, we’ve expanded so much that we can no longer all fit on the boat! A wonderful sign of how far we’ve come as a company and a reminder of the close-knit ‘family’ atmosphere we have always valued.

A huge thank you to Vintage Days Out, Richard, and the entire team for organising such a memorable day. We are already looking forward to next year’s celebrations!

The NFU Mutual Bespoke Conference at Farnham Castle today

Rachel Doerr and Alastair Meiklejon were delighted to attend the NFU Mutual Bespoke Conference on 25 June, representing Doerr Dallas Valuations at this prestigious industry event.

Held at the historic Farnham Castle, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to connect with NFU Mutual agents, insurance specialists, and other professionals dedicated to delivering tailored services to high-net-worth clients. Throughout the day, Rachel and Alastair welcomed attendees to our stand, engaging in insightful discussions about the importance of professional valuations for insurance, probate, and estate planning.

As specialists in valuing fine art, jewellery, watches, antiques, and other high-value assets, we were pleased to share how our expertise supports clients in protecting their most treasured possessions. Many conversations centred on the risks of underinsurance and the benefits of up-to-date, accurate valuations to ensure full coverage in the event of loss or damage.

Beyond the discussions, the conference was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and forge new connections within the industry. Networking with NFU Mutual agents and brokers provided valuable insights into how we can continue to support their clients with tailored valuation services.

The setting of Farnham Castle, with its rich history and stunning views, added an extra touch of grandeur to the event. The day was filled with engaging presentations, informative discussions, and an excellent atmosphere that made it a truly worthwhile experience.

A huge thank you to NFU Mutual Bespoke for hosting such a well-organised and insightful event. Rachel and Alastair thoroughly enjoyed the day and are already looking forward to next year’s conference!

Queen’s Club Championships

A huge thank you to Hampden & Co and Samantha Dunne for hosting such an amazing day at the Queen’s Club Championship. It was an incredible experience, combining world-class tennis with valuable networking opportunities in a fantastic setting.

Ben Hanly, our Contemporary Art Specialist Valuer, and Rachel Doerr from Doerr Dallas Valuations were delighted to attend and spend the day enjoying the thrilling atmosphere at one of the most prestigious tennis events in the UK. The Queen’s Club Championship never disappoints, with its incredible courts and enthusiastic crowds providing the perfect backdrop for top-level tennis.

The highlight of the day came when we had the chance to watch Andy Murray on the court. Seeing such a renowned tennis player in action was a true privilege, especially at a tournament as prestigious as the Queen’s Club Championship. The matches were exciting, and the energy around the grounds was electric.

Aside from the tennis, the event also offered an excellent opportunity to network with fellow professionals. Connecting with industry peers in the relaxed atmosphere of Queen’s Club provided valuable insights and a chance to share experiences. Whether discussing contemporary art valuation or simply enjoying a day of sport, the event was a wonderful blend of business and pleasure.

We are grateful to Hampden & Co and Samantha Dunne for organising such a memorable day. The Queen’s Club Championship once again proved to be the perfect setting for combining excellent tennis with great conversation. We are already looking forward to the next chance to enjoy this iconic event!

Fine Art Insurance Reception

Doerr Dallas Valuations would like to extend our thanks to the organisers of the Fine Art Insurance Reception for another fantastic evening. Held once again at the prestigious RAC Club, the event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with industry colleagues and friends in a relaxed and convivial setting.

We were delighted to attend and show our support for this important gathering, which brings together professionals from across the fine art, insurance, and valuation sectors. These events foster valuable discussions, strengthen industry relationships, and celebrate the shared passion for preserving and protecting fine art and collectibles.

Our team—Rachel Doerr, Alastair Meiklejon, Ben Hanly, and Francesca Valentini—thoroughly enjoyed the evening, catching up with old friends and making new connections. The reception was filled with engaging conversations, insightful exchanges, and, of course, the highly anticipated raffle. Sadly, Rachel’s luck didn’t change this year—she still didn’t win! But the real reward was the chance to celebrate our shared industry with like-minded professionals.

Doerr Dallas Valuations remains committed to supporting events like these, which highlight the importance of specialist valuations in the fine art and luxury asset markets. We recognise the crucial role insurance plays in protecting valuable collections and are always pleased to work alongside brokers, underwriters, and insurers to ensure clients receive the best possible service.

Once again, thank you to the organisers and everyone involved in making the evening such a success. We are already looking forward to next year’s event and another opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and raise a glass to the industry we love.

We went back to school!

David Dallas, representing Art Valuers, together with the painter, Clive Wilson, the sculptor Charlie Smith, and Paul Raison, an Old Master expert from an auction house recently spoke to pupils at Eton College about pursuing a career in the commercial art world.

The evening was a great success and well attended, with 31 boys and 8 members of staff giving up their evenings to hear the talks and take part in the Q&A Session in the luxurious Jafar Gallery and Debating Chamber.

The boys asked a lot of intelligent and probing questions and seemed to be quite well acquainted with the subject already!

Dave, a past pupil himself, was delighted and honoured to be invited and to share his experiences.

An amazing evening with Renovation Underwriting

On 26 March, Renovation Underwriting delighted us all with an amazing evening full of over 80 industry guests at the Victorian Bath House in London.

Rachel Doerr, our Managing Director, was delighted to attend the exclusive “RTC” launch event, revealed as Renovating the Classics.

The evening brought a tongue-in cheek approach to famous artworks with screenprints, bringing a difference and a twist! The evening started with a passionate and thought-provoking speech by Douglas Brown, inviting creativity within the industry and working together to overcome problems while building closer connections, trust, and collaboration.

It was a lovely evening, and we want to thank Douglas and James Guthrie for the invite – we look forward to the next one!

Risk Management Forum

Thank you Hiscox for the invitation to present at the Risk Management Forum yesterday.

We are always delighted and honoured to present market updates and engage on important matters that affect HNW clients.

The room was filled with many supporting brokers but also many new brokers we had not met before, so it was a real pleasure to put faces to names and meet the next rising stars in the insurance arena.

Well done Nico Bryant-Stevens, Nicola Holmes, Andrew Cheney, and Barry Taylor!

Big thank you to John O’Brien for a great day and evening.
