Matilda Burn

Matilda is a specialist in European ceramics and glass. She worked at Christie’s between 2011 and 2025, most recently as head of the ceramics and glass department in London. During her time at Christie’s Matilda was lucky enough to sell two Meissen birds from the Japanese Palace and a Wedgwood First Day’s Vase (amongst other highlights). She also spent time in New York cataloguing and selling the Rothschild and Rockefeller collections, and worked on Christie’s ‘Interiors’ sales, which included decorative ceramics and glass from Herend dinner services and Baccarat glass services to 20th century Meissen parrots.

Prior to her time at Christie’s, Matilda catalogued architectural drawings at Sir John Soane’s Museum. Matilda also has a Masters from the Courtauld, which focused on British Architecture, and a BA from Warwick University in History of Art.
